Nearly doubled the existing home’s area through a rear expansion while raising, revising, and expanding the existing roof
The family had outgrown their home in West Virginia, but wanted to stay in the neighborhood. They had a good background in construction and planned to complete the work on their own, but they still needed drawings to construct from and to show their local building department so they could get approval to proceed with the work.
Amy green design worked with the clients to create a design that practically doubled the floor area of their home. This was accomplished by pushing the back wall of home out about 15’, revising the existing roof, expanding the second floor over the new first floor expansion with dormers in the new areas of the roof which helped add more usable space, while also remodeling the existing first and second floor areas of the home.
Amy green design used 3d modeling and graphics in addition to blueprints, to clearly show both the client and the local building department what would be demoed, new, and existing to remain in this ambitious home addition.
